What does 4F stand for in 4F Sailplanes?

Flex-Fuse Free-Flight

4F Sailplanes by AeroRacers Inc. feature:

  • Flex-Fuse automatic steering
  • Ballast Shift for precise center-of-gravity adjustment
  • Fun Saver crash-protection system
  • Rapid Wing Joining system

Flex-Fuse explained:

Our patent-pending Flex-Fuse system allows 4F sailplanes to ascend straight on the high-start launcher until reaching apogee. Once the glider releases from the high start and begins free flight, it will turn into a gentle spiral until landing.

This automatic circling keeps the sailplane within a reasonable distance of the launch point, making it ideal for short fields such as school yards, athletic fields, soccer fields, or small parks. When launched with a full-length high start, the automatic circling can dramatically increase flight time—especially when the sailplane enters a thermal.

Ballast Shift System explained:

Our Ballast Shift system provides a simple, precise way to balance your 4F sailplane on its center of gravity. Just loosen the screw slightly and slide the ballast forward or backward as needed—no complicated measuring required.

What is the Fun Saver crash-protection system?

The Fun Saver system allows the wings to safely detach from the fuselage during rough landings, crashes, or when a wing strikes an object (such as a pole) in flight. By separating, the wings dissipate energy and fall harmlessly to the ground. Just attach them back to the fuselage with rubber bands and you’re ready to fly again.

What is our Rapid Wing Joining System?

Our Rapic wing joining system allows the left and the right wing panels to be joined in seconds at the correct angle without using glue. The wing panels can be taken apart just as quickly after a day of flying. This eliminates the complicated glueing together of the wing panels, which is the hardest part in building a model aircraft and creates a transport problem with larger wing spans.

Why choose AeroRacers 4F Sailplanes?
