The new AeroRacers “Super Stretch” rubber band racer is the perfect problem solving hands-on, brains-on or STEM product. This educational racer will run on virtually any surface. The power unit consists of a rubber band coupled with string. Students learn about the advantages of using a pulley to redirect a force. In addition students will become familiar with terms like potential and kinetic energy, rotating mass, inertia and momentum, just to name a few.
Friction on the driving wheels can be varied for better acceleration and/or longer distance runs by using weights. Power can be adjusted as well.
Students have to solve problems as they try to make their racer go faster and longer distances. The more power they use, the more problems they have to solve.
The racer can easily be decorated with markers. Students can design a body for their racer out of card stock paper (not included and not shown).
Students optimize their SUPER STRETCH racers for long distance competitions, side by side drag racing and the ever popular mass launches.
All parts are pre-cut.

The chassis is designed to assemble in a very short time without glue.
We recommend you have a pair of scissors handy to cut the string to the desired length.
Our SUPER STRETCH racer comes with all the parts needed for assembly:
laser cut plywood chassis and tool parts, wood wheels with O-rings and rubber bands, wooden axles, pulley, plastic axle tubing, high strength rear nylon axle, hex nuts as well as rubber string and kite string. Instructions are included.
