Description

Our new PropDiver(R) USS Lionfish can dive, run on the surface and is a hoot to play with. Swim along, dive after it, shoot cool underwater pics or try to have your sub stay under for over 5 minutes. This Lionfish is rubber band powered and runs for minutes at a time on the surface or under. You can wind your submarine over and over again at no cost. Simply wind the rubber band motor by turning the propeller backwards and it is ready for another mission. It can go straight, left and right. Display stand not included.

How our PropDiver(R) submarine works: The Lionfish floats on the water as it is made from wood. To dive or submerge, there is a series of ballast chambers that need to be filled with weights. The weights used are pennies. Everybody has pennies laying around. It takes a maximum of 18 pennies to dive and stay submerged. The Lionfish will resurface at the end of the submerged run. You can adjust the angle of dive for deep dives or stay in the shallow water by playing with the amount and location of the pennies. Pennies (18 needed) are not included.

The PropDiver(R) USS Lionfish is very easy to build. All parts are laser-cut for accuracy and the body lines are etched into it so it can be accurately colored if desired. No glue, no waterproofing, no sanding, no paint, no tool is ever needed. The Lionfish simply snaps together. Any eight year old can do it. There a couple of “simple machines” included to help snap the rivets in place. You cannot build it wrong. The submarine assembles in minutes. You can decorate it with permanent markers as they look great both in and out of the water. All of our pictures are shot of a production Lionfish colored with permanent markers (we recommend Sharpies “Sharpie is a registered trademark of Sharpies Inc.”). Detail lines prevent the ink from running and makes for a clean edge when coloring, making your sub look great. The Lionfish can be decorated before you build it, or after you built and played with it. All parts of the submarine can be decorated, including the screws and the propeller.

The PropDiver(R) USS Lionfish is driven by a large, very slow spinning propeller. This makes it possible for the submarine to stay submerged for over 5 minutes. We have recorded dive times in excess of 10 minutes. Shoot some underwater pics and amaze your friends.

You will receive all the laser-cut wood parts necessary to build your submarine as well as a contest rubber loop motor along with a high performance pusher propeller. All the small parts are included as well. A very detailed instruction sheet is provided that will guide you through the assembly process. Instructions on how to adjust for dive or have your sub swim on the surface are included along with tips. Pennies required for dive are not included.
