Gen 2 GADD dragsters feature a vastly improved rear wheel/axle mount. The wheels are super easy to mount and adjust. The racer can now be wound from both sides.

Tame the world’s fastest rubber band powered production dragsters! Our factory Nitro Top Fuel Dragster runs 50 ft in as low as 2.5 secs.

Our “Nitro” dragster kit is 1:18 sport scale and modeled after a current top fuel dragster. It is legal to race in the Great American Dragster Derby. The Nitro is easy to build and it’s design allows for easy access to the rubber band power and gear unit.

The Nitro runs anywhere on its wide rear foam tires. The front suspension deals with an uneven surface and steering allows for direction adjustments. A special tool to wind the racer is included.

We recommend you use white glue to build your dragster. Due to the interlocking chassis design, you will successfully complete your racer in very little time.

Use markers to decorate your racer and keep it light. Paint can be used as well.

Kit contents: The Nitro kit comes complete with all laser-cut plywood parts necessary to build the racer and the winding tool. All metal gears, axles, .187″ rubber motor, windshield and small plastic parts along with an Allen wrench are included. Two rear foam tires and rim kits along with two grooved wooden front wheels with O-rings are included. Detailed building and racing instructions will be emailed to you.

The Nitro can easily run a 50 ft (20th scale of a 1000 ft run by NHRA) distance in under 3 seconds.

You can improve the performance of your Nitro by applying Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). You can vary the following on your racer:

Power: Adjust power through wider and/or more rubber string loops.

Gear Ratio: Choose from different pinion and/or crown gears to improve acceleration and/or top speed.

Wheel weight: You can change the wheel weight for more traction by adding weight to your rims.

Overall racer weight: Adjust ballast for optimal traction/ stability of your car.

Aerodynamics: You can sand your racer for better aerodynamics. Rear wing flap is adjustable for aerodynamic experimentation.

We recommend that up to 5 students share one of our GADD racers and work as a team.

A team consists of:
• Crew chief
• Mechanic
• Driver

• Public relations agent

Other students in the class act as race officials.

This is a real life scenario where students experience first hand what it is like to work together as a team towards the common goal of winning a race.
