A “STEM Approach to Powered Flight” is designed for students who are new to Flight. The manual is designed to be used in conjunction with the AF-1 Lightning. The 37 page turn-key manual contains 4 individual lesson plans, scientific sections with many illustrations on the four forces of flight as well as Center of Gravity and a flight log book are included. The manual also features a vocabulary section.
Students will learn the basic scientific principles of powered flight and they will learn how to apply that knowledge through the technology they apply to their aircraft. Questions throughout the manual prompts the student to think like an engineer and math can be used in the test flight stages to predict flight times. The manual links general flight science to the aircraft the student is building and flying.
